As a core safety component of electric forklifts, the braking system directly affects the operation stability of the equipment and the safety of on-site personnel and cargo. A standard electric forklift braking system usually consists of two independent sets of modules: service braking and parking braking. The service braking system integrates hydraulic assistance and electric feedback braking design, which can recover part of the kinetic energy during deceleration to properly extend the vehicle's working range, while ensuring smooth braking response under heavy load working conditions to avoid the risk of cargo slipping and falling. The parking braking system is mainly used for scenarios such as vehicle parking on ramps and long-term standby, which can effectively prevent the vehicle from accidental sliding.

Daily pre-use inspection of the braking system is an indispensable link in the standard operation process of electric forklifts, which can eliminate hidden faults in the initial stage and greatly reduce the probability of safety accidents in the operation process. The standardized inspection process can be carried out in the following steps. First, drive the unloaded vehicle at a low speed for about 10 meters, gently press the service brake pedal, check whether the pedal stroke is within the normal range, confirm that there is no stuck, abnormal noise or braking force deviation, and make sure the brake response is sensitive and the vehicle has no braking deflection. Second, drive the vehicle to a gentle slope area, step on the brake pedal and pull up the parking brake, then release the foot brake to confirm that the vehicle does not slide, so as to verify the locking effectiveness of the parking brake. Third, check whether the warning indicator related to the braking system on the dashboard works normally, confirm that the brake fluid level is within the standard scale range, and check whether the exposed brake pipeline has leakage, cracking or excessive wear.
